Synopsis

Shot at one of the last working sugar factories in Barbados, images of sugar cane being loaded, crushed, and processed are accompanied by readings from 17th Century plantation owners’ journals describing the horrifically mundane details of the sugar industry and thereby the history of slavery on the island.
